Hello Fabien, thank you for agreeing to answer our questions! First, tell us how you realized that someone was trying to steal your bike, and what was your reaction?
For the first theft attempt, I was alerted on my phone of movement and I immediately went to check. It was during the day, so no problem. When I arrived at my bike, I saw someone with bolt cutters trying to break it. He ran away and I never saw him again.
You mention a “first attempt,” does that imply that there were several?
Effectively. For the second attempt, it happened at night, I received a notification indicating that my bike was moving and when I went to see it, it was no longer there. I followed it and it ended up in a residence 2 kilometers away from where I was.
How did you react this time?
I alerted the police saying that I had your tracker (I did a little advertising because he didn’t know it existed), and then I went to the residence level, I alerted the caretaker and from there I searched with the Bluetooth mode of the tracker.
In the end, were you able to recover your property without any problems?
When I found the apartment, I rang the doorbell, the thief telling me that he didn’t have the bike, I rang the tracker*, he had no choice but to return my bike without any fuss.
